Reply To Embarrassing Satire, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu Accuses Macron Of Participating In Hamas

JAKARTA - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused French President Emmanuel Macron of taking sides with Hamas after Macron said Israel's policy in Gaza was "embarrassing".

Netanyahu said Israel adhered to its war goals to secure the release of the hostages, defeat Hamas, and ensure Gaza did not pose a threat to Israel.

Currently, the intensity of Israeli attacks on Gaza is increasing as US President Donald Trump visits the Middle East. 70 people in Gaza were reported killed.

Medics said most of the victims, including women and children, were killed in a series of Israeli airstrikes targeting houses in the Greater Java region of northern Gaza.

"Some of the victims are still on the road and under the rubble, where the civilian rescue and emergency teams cannot reach (they)," the health ministry said.

The Israeli military has yet to provide a statement. They said they were trying to verify the report.

Israel's press release on Wednesday quoted security officials as believing Hamas military leader Mohammad Sinwar and other senior officials were killed in Tuesday's attack on what the Israeli military described as a command and control bunker under the European Hospital in the city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
