Google Presents "Max Security" Button On Android 16 Through New Advanced Protection

JAKARTA - Google announced an important update for the security features on Android through the launch of a new Advanced Protection page that will be coming on Android 16. This feature allows users to enable maximum protection with just one toggle button, simplifying access to various security functions that have been scattered across various settings.

Google's Advanced Protection program isn't really new. From the start, this program was designed to protect Google accounts from cyberattacks, and has recently also provided protection against risky downloads. On Android 15, this feature has begun to blend into device security settings. However, with Android 16, Google introduces a more concise and easy-to-use version.

In the Android Show, Google showcases a new view of the Advanced Protection page that brings together many security features in one place. When the main toggle button is enabled, various advanced protections will work immediately and cannot be manually disabled as long as the Advanced Protection is still on.

Here are some features that will be active immediately when the user activates Advanced Protection:

Theft Detection Lock (The Key To Detection Of Theft)

Offline Device Lock (Display Lock While Offline)

Unknown App Protection (Protection from Unknown Apps)

Memory Tagging Extension

Chrome Browsing Protection (Browsing Protection in Chrome)

Javascript Protections

Spam & Scam Protection (Protection from Spam and Fraud)

Protection Against Hazardous Links

Automatic Call Screen (Auto Call Screening)

Scam Detection for the Phone by Google application Coming soon

2G Network Protection (Protection from 2G Network)

In addition, new features such as the Inacivity Reboot will also be part of the Advanced Protection. This feature will ensure the device automatically reboots after it is not used within a certain period of time, to prevent data from being accessed by unauthorized parties.

Even so, users can still choose to activate most of this feature manually, without activating the entire Advanced Protection. However, this toggle button is intended for those who want full and thorough protection, although with the consequence of a little risking the comfort and flexibility side.

This latest Advanced Protection feature will be officially available on Android 16.
