Parking Attendant Wearing DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency Vest Arrested By Police For Extortion

A total of 7 thugs under the guise of parking attendants (Jukir) were arrested by members of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cempaka Putih Police during the 2025 Eradication of Jaya.

Ironically, the perpetrators wore parking vests with the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency logo and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government parking uniform.

The perpetrators were arrested by the police for carrying out illegal levies (Pungli) against the people in the Cempaka Putih area, Central Jakarta.

The number of public reports that entered the Cempaka Putih Police so that the police made arrests of the jukir were troubling.

The Head of the Cempaka Putih Police, Kompol Sulistiyo Yudo Pangestu, said the operation targeted illegal parking attendants who carried out extortion using attributes and fake tickets as if they came from the Transportation Service (Dishub).

"From the results of the operation, we secured seven people. Four of them were proven to have used fake attributes and tickets to convince the public as if they were official from the Transportation Agency," said Kompol Sulistiyo when confirmed by VOI, Wednesday, May 14, 2025.

The perpetrators were desperate to fake the parking attributes of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency to avoid raids by officers and smooth the extortion action.

"This clearly violates the law and fulfills the elements of fraud as stipulated in Article 378 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of 4 years in prison," he said.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cempaka Putih Police, AKP Yossy Januar, added that four of the 7 perpetrators arrested had been detained at the Cempaka Putih Police Headquarters.

"The four arrested perpetrators have the initials SO (46), MH (34), SY (60) and ID (24)," he said.

Of the four people detained, evidence was secured in the form of two vests that read the Dishub and clothes bearing the Transportation Agency logo.

"The parking ticket and IDR 238 thousand in cash were confiscated," he said.

Meanwhile, the other three perpetrators with the initials EF (58), DA (38), and S (58) were still given guidance by the police because there was not enough evidence to be detained. The case is still being handled by the Cempaka Putih Police.
