The Health Check For Sacrificial Animals In Jakarta Is Implemented In Two Weeks
JAKARTA - Examination of sacrificial animals in DKI Jakarta will be carried out for two weeks to provide protection to residents who are carrying out sacrificial worship.
"We will start conducting health checks on sacrificial animals from May 22 to June 5, 2025," said Head of the East Jakarta Marine and Agricultural Food Security Service (KPKP), Taufik Yulianto when contacted by ANTARA in Jakarta, Monday.
Taufik said that health checks would be carried out in shelters and slaughtering of sacrificial animals (TPnHK) in the East Jakarta area.
This health check is of course carried out to ensure that the sacrificial animals entering East Jakarta are in good health and meet the requirements for sacrifice.

This is regulated through the Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture (Permentan) of the Republic of Indonesia concerning Procedures for Supervision of Animal Traffic, Animal Products, and Media for Other Animal Diseases in the territory of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
"This is an effort to be aware of Mouth and Nail Diseases (PMK) by implementing procedures for the income of sacrificial animals according to existing regulations," said Taufik.
The health checks for sacrificial animals include the age of the sacrificial animal, the health of the teeth and the checking of mouth and nail diseases (PMK), flu, antiraces and other diseases. Then also check for signs of illness or physical disabilities that can affect the quality of the sacrifice.
"The health check for sacrificial animals is carried out directly to the livestock storage location (door to door). If the animal examined is healthy, then the Animal Health Certificate (SKKH) will be given," explained Taufik.
Taufik said, if suspicion is found of the PMK case on sacrificial animals, the public can report to the local KPKP Sub-Department for treatment.
"We are also embezzling existing livestock in Jakarta by carrying out PMK vaccinations," said Taufik.
