Dembele Achieves The Best Ligue 1 Player Title This Season

JAKARTA - The best French League player for the 2024/2025 season fell on PSG striker Ousmane Dembele, at the UNFP (Union Nationale des Footballeurs Professionals) award which took place on Sunday (11/5).

Launching ANTARA, Monday, May 12, Dembele won this award after bringing PSG to their 13th French League title, and encouraging the capital club to reach the Champions League final.

Dembele is the French League's top scorer this season with 21 goals, and has collected a total of 33 goals in 46 games in all competitions, including eight goals in the Champions League.

He replaced Kylian Mbappe, who previously won the award five times in a row before moving to Real Madrid late last season.

PSG coach Luis Enrique also won the award as best coach, while Rennes' young player, Desire Doue, was named the best young player.

Despite dominating this year's award, PSG failed to clear all categories, after Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier beat Gianluigi Donnarumma for the best goalkeeper.

PSG are currently on track to win three titles in the same season (treble), after they made sure to win the French League title and prepare for Inter Milan in the Champions League final on May 31, as well as Reims in the French Cup final a week earlier.
