KPAID Accompanies Teenagers With Special Needs For Victims Of Sexual Harassment In Cirebon
JAKARTA - The Regional Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAID) Cirebon, West Java accompanied a teenage girl with special needs who was suspected of being a victim of harassment by a nurse with the initials DS (31) at a hospital in Cirebon.
Head of Cirebon KPAID Fifi Sofiyah said assistance to 16-year-olds with special needs requires a different approach to ensure the recovery process runs optimally and in accordance with the psychological needs of the victims.
"Children with special needs definitely need special treatment. We will provide intensive assistance, including involving psychiatrists," said Fifi in Cirebon, Sunday.
He explained that this assistance would be carried out in a sustainable manner, from legal processes to trauma recovery.
According to him, this step is important to ensure that victims get maximum protection.
In addition to assisting psychiatrists, he said, the victim will also receive special attention during the recovery process, including psychological support that is in accordance with the needs of children with special needs.
This special treatment is given directly to ensure the mental condition of the victim recovers well. This includes intensive assistance in a safe and comfortable environment for the victim," he said.

Fifi said, to ensure the safety of the victim, his party will continue to monitor the development of the victim's psychological condition and provide appropriate assistance during the legal process.
Regarding the results of the victim's post-mortem, he emphasized that KPAID did not have access to these results, because it was the police's authority.
However, his party will continue to coordinate to ensure the legal process runs smoothly.
"We really believe in the performance of the Cirebon City Police, especially the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) which continues to carry out intensive investigations," he said.
Fifi appealed to people who have information related to this case not to be afraid to provide information to the authorities, in order to speed up their disclosure.
Previously, Cirebon City Police Chief AKBP Eko Iskandar said a number of witnesses had been examined in this alleged harassment case on Saturday (11/5).
He said the Cirebon City Police received a report related to this case from the victim's mother with the initials NH on May 5, 2025, with the reported party being DS, an unscrupulous nurse at a hospital in Cirebon.
"DS information has been stopped at the end of April 2025 by the hospital. The victim is a teenager with disabilities who at that time was treated for tuberculosis," he said.
Eko said that while being treated on December 20-26, 2024, the victim was suspected of having experienced three abuses by the nurse.
"The examination process continues, and we are trying to gather sufficient evidence. We will work optimally and professionally in handling this case," he said.
