Worried About AI Company, Elton John And Hundreds Of Creative Workers Sending Petitions To UK PM
JAKARTA - Hundreds of British creative workers, including well-known musicians such as Elton John to Dua Lipa, have again voiced their concerns over the existence of artificial intelligence (AI) or artificial intelligence.
This time, Elton John and hundreds of other people signed a petition in the form of a letter addressed to British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.
Through his Instagram account, John uploaded the letter, which contains the views of creative workers when their works are faced with AI.
Creative copyright is the lifeblood of the creative industry. The copyright recognizes the moral authority we have on our work and provides revenue flows for 2.4 million people in four states in the UK. The struggle to maintain our creative industry has been followed by a large number of UK businesses, including those using and developing AI," the letter reads, quoted from Elton John's post, Sunday, May 11.
The letter states that creative workers are not against technological advances, considering that the creative industry has always been an adoption of technology from the start. But they are worried about the development of the creative industry, if their works are not protected from technology companies.

"We will lose a huge growth opportunity if we give our work at the behest of a handful of powerful foreign technology companies," he said. The first task of any government is to protect its citizens. So, we urge His Majesty's Government to accept Amendments to the House of Representatives on behalf ofBajan Kidron which places transparency at the heart of the copyright regime and allows developers and creators of Al to develop a licensing regime that will enable human-made content in the future. This amendment recognizes the important role creative content plays in the development of Al generative.
Creative workers feel the amendment will spur a dynamic licensing market that will increase the role of human creativity in the UK, as well as position them as key players in the global Al supply chain.
"To lawmakers on all sides of the political spectrum and on both of the Assembly, we urge you to vote in support of the British creative industry. Supporting us means supporting future creators. Our work doesn't belong to you just to be given," said the letter signed by Elton John.
