Police Routine Patrol To Prevent Brawl In Duren Sawit
JAKARTA - The Duren Sawit Police conducted patrols at a number of points prone to brawls and street crimes on Saturday night, May 10 until early Sunday, May 11, 2025.
Patrols are carried out in an effort to maintain security and public order.
This step was taken in response to public concerns about the rampant youth brawls that often occur at night until early morning.
Duren Sawit Police Chief, AKP Sutikno said the patrol was carried out routinely and targeted locations that are often gathering points for teenagers on the outskirts of BKT (East Flood Canal), Jalan Pondok Kopi Raya, Cipinang Indah to narrow alleys, and inter-regional border areas.
"This patrol is part of our preventive efforts to prevent brawls between youth groups," said AKP Sutikno when confirmed, Sunday, May 11.
Sutikno appealed to residents and teenagers not to be easily provoked by provocateurs.
In addition, the Duren Sawit Police also invites the participation of the community, especially parents, to be more active in supervising the activities of their children outside the home.
"We cannot work alone. The role of parents, community leaders, and RT/RW is very important to jointly keep this area safe," he said.
