TNI Ensures Security Support For The Prosecutor's Office In Accordance With MoU And Legal Rules

The Head of the TNI Information Center, Major General of the TNI Kristomei Sianturi, emphasized that the support of Indonesian Army personnel for securing the prosecutor's office was carried out on the basis of official requests and measurable needs, and remained within the applicable legal corridors.

According to Kristomei, the cooperation between the TNI and the Indonesian Prosecutor's Office has been regulated through the Memorandum of Understanding Number NK/6/IV/2023/TNI which was signed on April 6, 2023. This memorandum of understanding is the basis for the implementation of various forms of collaboration which includes aspects of security to law enforcement.

"As a state institution, the TNI always adheres to the principles of being professional, neutral, and establishing positive synergy with other institutions," he said when confirmed in Jakarta, Sunday (11/5).

He explained that the issuance of the KSAD Telegram Letter Number ST/1192/2025 dated May 6, 2025 is a continuation of the cooperation that has been going on regularly. The letter regulates security within the prosecutor's office, which is preventive and institutional in scale.

The scope of cooperation between the TNI and the Prosecutor's Office, continued Kristomei, is very broad. Among them include education and training, exchanging information for the benefit of law enforcement, placing TNI personnel within the Indonesian Attorney General's Office, to the role of prosecutors as supervisors at the TNI's Oditurat General.

Not only that, cooperation also includes legal support in the fields of Civil and State Administration, including litigation and non-litigation assistance, as well as the use of infrastructure to support the implementation of the duties of each institution.

"Technical coordination in investigations, prosecutions, and handling connectivity cases are also an important part of this synergy," he added.

Kristomei emphasized that the involvement of TNI personnel in securing the prosecutor's office was an implementation of the TNI's constitutional mandate as a guardian of sovereignty and guardian of the nation's integrity.

"Every form of TNI's involvement is always aimed at ensuring national security and supporting the stability of state institutions in carrying out their functions," he said.
