A Couple Of Suspected Perpetrators Of Child Abuse In Blok M Under The Influence Of Illegal Drugs

JAKARTA A tragic case happened to a two-year-old toddler with the initials R, who died as a result of abuse by his biological mother and lover in the Blok M area, South Jakarta. The perpetrator is known to have carried out his cruel actions under the influence of illegal drugs such as excimer pills, which are known among the public as "dog pills".

The Head of Women and Children Service (PPA) of the South Jakarta Metro Police, AKP Citra Ayu, explained that the perpetrator admitted to taking the pill when it took place on Wednesday (7/5) at around 12.30 WIB.

"So far, the person concerned admits that he is indeed under the influence of drugs, namely the exhibition pill," Citra said at a press conference in Jakarta, Friday (9/5/2025).

Victim R was abused by his biological mother with the initials N (31) and lover E (32), who is not the victim's biological father. Both work as buskers and sellers of roses around the Blok M area. They live moving and are known to live under the Blok M flyover bridge during the incident.

The form of violence experienced by the victim was very sadistic, ranging from pinching, hitting, to hitting using a guitar. The perpetrator had argued that the injuries on the victim's body were caused by a fight with his brother. However, the reason was immediately suspected by the puskesmas and witnesses because of the condition of the victim's body which was full of bruises.

"The reason they are because their son is fighting with his brother. But the condition clearly doesn't make sense, and makes witnesses report it to the authorities," said Citra.

The victim was finally taken to the Kebayoran Baru Health Center by the perpetrator. However, after being examined, the victim was declared dead with serious injuries all over his body. Puskesmas officers immediately reported the findings to the police.

The police moved quickly to conduct an investigation and arrest the two perpetrators for further questioning. Meanwhile, the victim's body has been taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta, for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

In addition to victim R, the couple also has another five-year-old child. The child has now been secured by the Technical Implementation Unit of the DKI Jakarta Women and Children Protection Center (UPT P3A) for protection and assistance.

The police are currently still investigating the motive for the persecution and ensuring the psychological condition and background of the acts of violence committed by the two perpetrators.
