North Sumatra Police Mobile Brigade Intensify Night Patrols In Belawan Prevent Brawl
The North Sumatra Regional Police Mobile Brigade Unit (Polda) strengthened night patrols in Medan Belawan District, Medan, to prevent brawls in the area.
"A total of 30 Brimob personnel from Company 4 Battalion A were deployed to anticipate further brawls in the Belawan area," said the Commander of the North Sumatra Police Mobile Brigade Unit, Kombes Rantau Isnur Eka, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, May 8.
Rantau said the night patrol was a combination of Indonesian Navy personnel, the Belawan Port Police Sabhara and the local Satpol PP.
The joint patrol is part of a commitment to maintain security stability in the North Sumatra region.
The police conveyed a firm warning to the public, especially teenagers, not to get involved in brawls or activities that could trigger new conflicts.
"We are ready to be present in the community to create a sense of security. To parents and youth, let's work together to keep the environment conducive," he said.

Previously, the Medan Belawan Police Chief, AKP Ponijo, was the victim of a mass throw when breaking up a brawl between villages in the Belawan area.
Then the Belawan Police conducted a sweep by arresting nine people suspected of being the perpetrators of the brawl, namely FA (17), RA (25), NS (19), DP (20), DAH (23), ZE (28), AS (17), MH (21), and AT (20). All of them are now being questioned at the Belawan Port Police Headquarters to account for their actions.
