Google Secretly Tests Circle To Search New Design, One Of Which Has Been Launched To The Public

JAKARTA - Google is again testing a new interface design for its flagship features on Android, namely Circle to Search. The feature, which has been the main attraction in the Android flagship device, is now evolving through two new displays that have started to appear on several user devices. One of them has even been reported to be released to users widely.

Circle to Search has been known as an intuitive and fast contextual search feature. Simply by circled objects on the screen, users can directly search for information via Google without having to exit the application that is currently being opened. Google seems to be aware of the great potential of this feature, and is starting to explore design changes to provide a better experience.

With the Google app update version 16.17.38, two new designs emerged. The first design features a very different approach than before. If usually Circle to Search comes in the form of a long horizontal bar with a rounding angle, now the design is converted into a rectangular box with a minimalist look. No buttons are lined or splitters. Instead, there are only icons accompanied by text such as Search, Song Search, and Translate. This display was first reported by Telegram users under the name @brokenhrone.

The second design was discovered by another user with the name @username5662, and interestingly this design also appeared on the Pixel 9 Pro XL device belonging to the Android Authority editor. This indicates that the design is most likely in the stage of a gradual launch to the public. In this design, Circle to Search is displayed in two rows. The first row is filled with Google search fields, while the second row contains buttons for the song search and translation features. This display provides a more organized visual structure and separates the main functions and additional features clearly.

There is no certainty from Google regarding which design will be the final option. As usual, interface testing like this is often only part of limited experiments that may not reach the final version. However, the appearance of one of the designs on the latest Pixel devices hints that a decision can be made soon.

Circle to Search itself received a warm welcome from Android users since it was first introduced. By changing the way users seek information instantly on their screen, this feature is slowly becoming an important element in the Android ecosystem. This change in interface that is being tested shows that Google wants to continue to improve the feature, both in terms of functionality and aesthetics.

Now it's just a matter of waiting, which design Google will officially choose to become the new face of Circle to Search in the future.
