Kemenpora Akan Hold Seleknas 3 Cabor Untuk SEA Games 2025
The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) will hold a national selection (selection) for 2025 table tennis, boxing, and soccer in preparation for the 2025 SEA Games.
The Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Dito Ariotedjo, said that the national selection titled the Menpora Cup was open to all national athletes.
"I feel that these three sports are very thick sports with culture in Indonesia," Dito said at a press conference at the Media Center of the Ministry of Youth and Sports on Thursday, May 8, 2025.
The selection of the three sports will take place from May to July 2025 on the 2nd Floor of the GBK Arena Building, Senayan. The selected athletes will then enter the national training camp (pelatnas).
Dito said that the national selection of the three sports was taken over by his party because the federation that houses them is currently facing various problems.

"Athletes and coaches who have been practicing themselves have been preparing. However, there are obstacles outside of training so they cannot go to multi-events," he said.
Saat ini sepak takraw menghadapi masalah kepemimpinan karena ketua umum Persatuan Sepak Takraw Indonesia (PSTI) Asnawi Abdul Rahman menjabat lebih dari tiga periode berturut-turut (20172029).
This violates the Regulation of the Minister of Youth and Sports (Permenpora) Number 14 of 2024. Meanwhile, table tennis has experienced dualism in the management of the Indonesian Table Tennis Association (PTMSI) for almost 15 years.
The problems in boxing arose after the Indonesian Amateur Boxing Association (Pertina) was dropped from membership of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI).
The decision came after the International Boxing Association (IBA) was frozen by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) because it was incompetent in organizational governance.
The 2025 SEA Games will take place in Thailand on 7-19 December 2025. A total of 50 sports will be competed in the biennial multi-branch event.
