Apple Presents 'Viral Charts' On Shazam Music App
JAKARTA Shazam, an application that Appple acquired in 2017, launched a new feature. The music streaming platform can now display the metric of popular songs in real-time.
This new feature, called Shazam Viral Charts, takes advantage of data on the platform, including track search data every second. After that, the data is processed to display the latest music that is developing and is in great demand by the public.
Apple explained that this feature will notify users about the song that is going viral. After that, these songs will be displayed in the form of ratings based on their growth.
"The song upload uses Shazam's unique signal to perform songs that go viral in real time, then rank songs based on their weekly growth in the volume of Shazam," Apple explained in a statement received by VOI.
Shazam Viral Charts also not only tracks hits, but also captures the spectrum of how the song can become popular, such as because of streaming, important events, or because of other factors.
