RI's Cooperation In Japan Is Getting More Lengket, Focus On Energy, Automotive, And Exports
JAKARTA - Indonesia and Japan have agreed to strengthen cooperation in the trade and investment sector, especially in strategic projects within the framework of the Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC) and Indonesia's Economic Partnership Agreement (IJEPA).
This agreement was conveyed by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, after holding a bilateral meeting with the Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Muto Yoji, in Tokyo.
"Both parties agreed to maintain intensive communication and find solutions to joint technical issues," said Airlangga in a written statement from Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, May 8.
In the constructive meeting, the two countries emphasized their commitment to continue to strengthen mutually beneficial economic relations.
Airlangga said the cooperation that had been established so far was going well in various sectors, ranging from clean energy, automotive, bioenergy, to agriculture and fisheries.
Meanwhile, Minister Muto expressed his appreciation to Airlangga for his contribution in strengthening economic relations between the two countries. He also congratulated Airlangga on the award "Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star".
"I thank you for the significant contribution of Coordinating Minister Airlangga, especially in maintaining the business climate between Japan and Indonesia," said Muto.

Throughout 2024, total trade between Indonesia and Japan reached 35.6 billion US dollars. Indonesia recorded a surplus of 5.7 billion US dollars, with an export value to Japan of 20.7 billion US dollars and imports from Japan of 14.9 billion US dollars.
