Sukamara Local Government Frees Uniforms And Gives Scholarships For Underprivileged Students

SUKAMARA - Sukamara Regent, Central Kalimantan (Central Kalimantan), Masduki ensured that there were no fees or free uniforms for children who continued their education from elementary, junior high, to high school levels, in the local area.

"I have said that when I was a coach at the joint ceremony last Monday at SMPN 1 Sukamara, that there is no longer allowed to sell and sell uniforms for our students who enter the new school year," Masduki said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, May 8.

He explained that the local government (Pemda) prepared uniforms for the elementary school level in the form of red and white complete clothes, batik clothes, scouters and bags. The same is true for children who continue to the junior high and high school levels with clothes that adjust their education level.

"Even though we have conveyed this, it turns out that there are still schools that want to play games and even collect their students. I have ordered the Head of the Education Office to immediately follow up on this," he said.

Masduki emphasized that the actions taken by one of the public schools in the local area are certainly very contrary to local government policies. He ensured that strict action would be taken so as not to repeat it.

"We want our society, children, to be able to continue school well, so that in our area there are no more children who have to drop out of school because they cannot redeem uniforms. Therefore, in the future we will make sure there will be no more similar things," he explained.

The local government, he said, also provides free scholarships for children who graduated from high school and want to continue to higher education levels in Sukamara Regency for more than 300 people.

"We provide free scholarships for our students who graduate from high school and want to continue to a higher level. We also provide 70 students who are underprivileged to study and will be borne for their clothing and food," said Regent Masduki.
