Bogor City DPRD Highlights Alleged Food Poisoning In MBG Program

BOGOR Deputy Chairperson I of the Bogor City DPRD, M. Rusli Prihatevy highlighted the alleged case of mass poisoning that allegedly came from the kitchen of the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) provider in Bosowa Bina Insani, Tanah Sareal.

In his statement, Thursday, May 8, Rusli expressed his concern and regretted the occurrence of this incident. He ensured that the DPRD through Commission IV would participate in overseeing the handling of the case.

"This good program like MBG should not be tarnished. We will guard it so that similar incidents do not happen again," he said.

He also supports the quick steps of the Bogor City Health Office which conducts epidemiological investigations to find the cause of poisoning. Rusli emphasized that the entire process, starting from the selection of food ingredients, cleaning the kitchen, to distributing food, must be carried out according to safety standards.

The MBG program initiated by President Prabowo Subianto, said Rusli, must be implemented properly because it concerns the future of the nation's next generation.

The MBG Bosowa Bina Insani kitchen is known to supply 2,977 servings of food to 13 schools. Until now, there have been 36 victims with symptoms of snatching, dizziness, vomiting, fever, and stomach pain.

In detail, five people are still being treated inpatient (consisting of two students and three Bina Insani Kindergarten teachers), seven are undergoing outpatient care (two students and five Bina Insani Kindergarten teachers), and 24 others have experienced minor complaints (consisting of five students, 18 teachers, and one Bina Insani Junior High School janitor).
