Making Residents Uneasy, 4 Debt Collectors In Cengkareng Arrested By Police

JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cengkareng Police has again arrested a number of debt collectors who often carry out their actions by seizing motorbikes belonging to dealers passing through the Cengkareng area, West Jakarta on Wednesday, May 7.

The perpetrators who were arrested were debt collectors with eagle eye mode (Matel). This activity is part of an operation to eradicate thuggery and control debt collectors who often disturb residents.

Cengkareng Police Chief Kompol Abdul Jana revealed that this operation was a follow-up to the many reports and complaints from the public regarding debt collector activities suspected of forcibly pulling motorized vehicles on the road.

"We are carrying out this operation continuously. Today, we managed to secure 4 people who claimed to be debt collectors," said Kompol Abdul Jana when confirmed.

The perpetrators who were arrested were then taken to the Cengkareng Police Headquarters. The perpetrators were then carried out data collection and guidance by the police.

"They will be trained," he said.

Meanwhile, the operation to control debt collectors was carried out along Jalan Daan Mogot Atar Grogol and Tangerang.aa then at Traffic Light Cengkareng, Jalan Raya Kamal to Jalan Raya Ring Road Golf Lake.

Police officers are actively combing the area to detect suspicious activity from debt collectors.

The police chief said that with the implementation of this operation, it is hoped that the public will feel safer and no longer be wary of the vehicle withdrawal action that is not in accordance with legal procedures.

The Cengkareng Police also appealed to the public not to hesitate to report any acts of thuggery or illegal levies that occur in their environment.

Previously, it was reported that the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cengkareng Police managed to arrest a group of debt collectors who often disturbed motorcyclists along Jalan Daan Mogot Raya, Cengkareng, West Jakarta.

This arrest was made after the Cengkareng Police received many reports from the public who were disturbed by the actions of the debt collectors.
