East Jakarta City Government Bans Sacrificial Traders From Selling In Fasum And Social Facilities

East Jakarta City Government urges traders of sacrificial animals not to occupy public facilities, social facilities and other public facilities to sell ahead of Eid al-Adha in June 2025.

"If the road agency arrives at the social facilities, fasum will certainly be a special concern. Of course (actions) they should not be there. There will definitely be a monev and we will conduct raids so that they do not occupy the road as a place to sell (sacrificial animals)," said Acting Mayor of East Jakarta, Iin Mutmainah told reporters, Wednesday, May 7.

Iin said, until now there has been a meeting at the Provincial level to prepare for which points are allowed to sell sacrificial animals.

"We will do a mapping, then we will see which urban villages last year were there, whether this year they also made re-sales or there were new additions. In principle, we will coordinate with the sub-district and sub-district regional teams to ensure," he said.

The East Jakarta City Government will also conduct socialization to the traders of sacrificial animals who have been registered and the community. In addition, in the near future, the East Jakarta City Government will also check the health of sacrificial animals so that they are suitable for sale.

"Surely later (socialization will be carried out) when they are registered, then the related team from the KPKP Sub-Department and the Health Sub-Department will definitely go down together. Like last year, we will go down directly to check the health of sacrificial cows and goats," he said.

According to Iin, the East Jakarta City Government must be present to ensure the feasibility of sacrificial animals sold and supervise the location of the selling place so as not to disturb other public order.

"We as a government are obliged to be present to supervise animals for sacrifices that are sold to the community, they are proper animals, not sick animals, not animals that cannot be used as sacrifices," he said.
