12 Victims Died In Deadly Bus Accident In Padang Panjang Identified
The West Sumatra Regional Police (Polda) managed to identify 12 victims who died in a fatal accident that occurred at the Bow Terminal, Padang Panjang City.
"A total of 12 bodies at the Padang Panjang City Hospital have been identified and have been identified," said Padang Panjang City Police Chief AKBP Kartyana Widyarso as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 6.
The police chief said the 12 bodies that were identified by the Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team were Rema Andini Pane (1,5), Naufal Rehan Pane (6), Riski Agustini Lubis (32), Melaiki Sinaga (74), Karmina Gultam (74) and Sarudin Nainggolan (74). Next Desrita Nainggolan (50), Sri Rejeki (38), Romaida Sitanggang (74), Etrick Gustaf Wenas (26), Aryudi (38) and Atas Silaen (30).
AKBP Kartyana said that until 17.00 WIB there had been representatives of three families of bodies arriving at the Padang Panjang City Hospital to pick up their relatives who were also victims of the deadly bus accident to Bekasi.
"There may still be victims' families who will come to the Padang Panjang City Hospital to pick up the bodies," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of Sub-Directorate for Dokpol for Medicine and Health (Bidokkes) of the West Sumatra Police, Dr. Eka Purnama Sari, said officers did not find it difficult to find out the identity of the victim because his condition could still be recognized, including through identity cards and luggage.
"The 10 bodies were identified through fingerprints while the other two were from medical data and properties that we got information from the family's mortem data," explained Dr. Eka.

Eka said the West Sumatra Police DVI team together with related agencies had handed over three bodies to each of the victims' families, two of which were men and one woman.
"The three bodies were picked up by the family and will be taken to their home areas in Medan, North Sumatra," he said.
