Accused Of Abusing Neighbor's Child, Man In Ciracas Challenges Parents To Report Police, Annoyed Residents

JAKARTA - A middle-aged man was beaten by residents on suspicion of molesting a 7-year-old boy, his own neighbor in Ciracas, East Jakarta, Tuesday morning, May 6, 2025.

According to P, the victim's mother, the perpetrator's lecherous act was discovered when her daughter came home from a snack from the shop while crying when she got home. The victim admitted to being harassed by the perpetrator while eating at a shop.

"My child is crying back and forth. Complaining to me, he said, his lips were kissed and his genitals were held," he told reporters, Tuesday, May 6.

After hearing the victim's statement, the perpetrator's parents were surprised. They immediately looked for the perpetrator and arrested him.

When secured, the perpetrator evaded. In fact, the perpetrator challenged the victim's father and mother to report the case to the police.

"Yes, we have a post-mortem. We will report it to the police because (the perpetrator) in question is challenging. And the results of the post-mortem to the police, yes," he said.

When the perpetrator was arrested, angry and emotional local residents beat the perpetrator. Luckily, police officers swiftly secured the alleged perpetrator from the residents' chases and tantrums.

Currently, the perpetrators have also been arrested by the East Jakarta Metro Police, to account for their actions.

The victim's mother hopes that the alleged perpetrator can be punished for his actions and charged with the Child Protection Law. Meanwhile, the case is handled by the East Jakarta Metro Police PPA Unit.
