Increase Reserves, Pertamina Drilling Drills In North Kalimantan

PT Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia (Pertamina Drilling) has started drilling the Sembakung Deep-001 oil and gas well (SBKD-001) in Sembakung, Nunukan Regency, North Kalimantan, owned by PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Tarakan Field using RIG PDSI#43.3/AB1500-E.

Pertamina Drilling President Director Avep Disasmita on a separate occasion said that drilling the SBKD-001 oil and gas well, which began in mid-March, was Pertamina Drilling's effort to assist PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) to maintain and increase reserves and produce National oil and gas.

"Synergy that is steep between Pertamina Drilling and PHI is certainly very important to increase productivity that can contribute more," he said, Tuesday, May 6.

He explained that until now Pertamina Drilling has succeeded in drilling in various challenging locations throughout Indonesia, including remote and hard-to-reach areas such as in Sumatra and Kalimantan, which are known as rich areas for energy reserves.

"This is certainly very important to increase productivity and can contribute more to state revenue," continued Avep.

Sembakung Deep (SBKD) Well 001 is planned to be drilled at a depth of 3,007 meters with a drilling duration of about 114 days using RIG PDSI#43.3/AB1500-E.

The exploration drilling carried out by Pertamina Drilling is a strategic step to be able to increase oil and gas reserves in supporting the sustainability of energy supply in Indonesia, and is in line to support the achievement of Indonesia's oil and gas production targets by 2030.

RIG PDSI #43.3/AB1500-E, is a Drilling Rig with a power of 1500 HP, made in the US and mostly assembled in Indonesia. With more than ten years of experience, RIG PDSI #43.3/AB1500-E can provide the best results in drilling.
