JAKARTA After recording success in the electric motorcycle market, PT Hartono Istana Teknologi (Polytron) officially stepped into the electric car segment by launching its first model, Polytron G3, the result of collaboration with the Chinese brand, Skyworth.

Introduced in Central Jakarta, Polytron G3 comes in two variants, namely G3 and G3+ as flagship variants. Carrying the tagline Smart, Luxury and Freedom, this car became a symbol of Polytron's innovation and bold steps at the age of 50.

The year 2025 is a special year for us. For five decades, Polytron has continued to grow and innovate to provide electronic services that make people's lives easier. Now, we present our first electric car as an environmentally friendly and easy-to-reached future mobility solution for Indonesian families," said Hariono, Polytron's Chief Executive Officer, at the launch.

He emphasized that the journey to the launch of this electric car is full of challenges, but the enthusiasm to present sustainable innovation is the company's main motivation.

Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita who was also present at the event expressed her appreciation for Polytron's great steps.

Previously, Polytron was successful with electric motorcycles, and now it has advanced to class by launching electric cars. This is clear evidence that national companies are able to innovate and contribute greatly to the country's automotive industry," he said.

He also highlighted Polytron's success in achieving a high level of Domestic Components (TKDN) for the G3, as an extraordinary achievement.

"This shows that this product is not only made in Indonesia, but also strengthens Indonesia's position in the domestic and global market," he added.

Polytron offers two ownership schemes for G3 and G3+:

Battery rental scheme (subscription): G3 is priced at IDR 299 million and G3 + IDR 339 million (OTR Jabodetabek).

Complete purchase scheme (non-subscription): G3 is sold for IDR 419 million and G3+ for IDR 459 million (OTR Jabodetabek).

The price difference of Rp120 million reflects the value of the battery used, which is also one of the most vital components in electric vehicles.
