Optimize SATRIA-1, Komdigi Will Review Internet Utilization In Rural Areas
JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Nezar Patria, said he would optimize the use of SATRIA-1 to strengthen the provision of internet access in disadvantaged, frontier and outermost (3T) areas from Indonesian territory.
"We have SATRIA-1, maybe some spots, we can propose the points needed to strengthen the network and can be accelerated," said Nezar in his official broadcast.
He emphasized that SATRIA-1 will strengthen community initiatives that use a variety of simple technological devices to provide connectivity in remote places.
Komdigi is even ready to facilitate discussion rooms with community internet activists and relevant stakeholders in developing community-based internet that is in accordance with governance and regulation.
"Building connectivity has proven useful for strengthening social relations and becoming a tool to express local culture and wisdom," he stressed.
According to him, Komdigi will also make visits to see firsthand how residents manage community internet in rural areas such as in the Cipta Adat Village, Degree, Sukabumi Regency and Meulingge Village, Pulo Aceh District.
