Prabowo Meets Bill Gates Wednesday, Wants To Give MBG Award

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto admitted that he would meet with philanthropists and investors from the United States who are also founders of Microsoft, Bill Gates, Wednesday (7/5), who want to give awards for the implementation of the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program.

When giving directions at the Plenary Cabinet Session on the 6-month government of the Red and White Cabinet, President Prabowo mentioned many leaders of countries and world leaders, including Bill Gates, who wanted to visit Indonesia and meet him to discuss the MBG targeting up to 82.9 million Indonesians.

"On May 7, the day after tomorrow, a world leader named Bill Gates will come here, asking to meet me for a long time. He asked to meet him, if I'm not mistaken, his letter came from November. He asked to meet, among others, to express support and appreciation for our nutritious meal," said President Prabowo at the Plenary Cabinet Session at the Presidential office, Jakarta Presidential Palace, Monday, May 5.

Based on information about Bill Gates' arrival plan, Prabowo was then greeted by applause from members of the Red and White Cabinet.

Although he felt very proud to receive the award, the President felt that the implementation of the MBG had not been fully successful because it had not targeted the total beneficiaries of the program as many as 82.7 million Indonesians.

"I feel very big hearted, but I feel no, don't muji us, we haven't succeeded. We made it, God willing, in December 2025," said the President.

The Head of State assessed that the implementation of the MBG could be said to be successful if the government succeeded in delivering food every day in a clean, safe, and nutritious condition to children and pregnant women.

Prabowo also admitted that he did not know what kind of award Bill Gates wanted to give. However, MBG will continue even though the government is not given assistance or awards.

"In fact, he wants to help us, I don't know what his form is, I just say that 'we were given assistance, were not given assistance, given awards, were not given awards, we did this because we believe that this is true and this is an investment in our children'," said the President.
