Secretly Circulating Methamphetamine, 2 Men In Palu Arrested By Police With Dozens Of Packages
The Palu Police Narcotics Investigation Unit managed to secure two men suspected of being drug dealers during a silent operation in the Tatanga sub-district, Palu City, Central Sulawesi, on Saturday, May 3.
This arrest was made after the police received a report from the public who suspected the existence of narcotics buying and selling activities in the area.
"The action was carried out after the Narcotics Satresnal team conducted an investigation based on public reports," said Head of the Palu Police Narcotics Investigation Unit, AKP Usman, in a statement received in Palu, Antara, Sunday, May 4.
The first perpetrator arrested was FH (28), a resident of South Palu District. He was secured at around 11.30 WITA on Jalan Sungai Tanamea, Nunu Village. When arrested, the police found seven packages of methamphetamine with a gross weight of 1.843 grams, three empty plastic clips, and a unit of digital scales.
"We have received initial information since Monday, and since then we have carried out monitoring until the perpetrator was finally raided when it was suspected that he was waiting for a buyer," explained Usman.
A few hours later, the second arrest was made of the perpetrator with the initials I (41), on Jalan Lekatu, Tavanjuka Village, at around 16.30 WITA.
From the hands of perpetrator I, the police confiscated 23 packages of methamphetamine with a gross weight of 8,964 grams, an empty plastic clip, a digital scale, and a shabu suction device.
"The results of the initial examination showed that both of them received methamphetamine from the Tatanga area. Some were consumed by themselves, the rest were for distribution," added Usman.
The two perpetrators are currently undergoing intensive examination and are charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) and Article 112 paragraph (2) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.

Usman emphasized that his party will continue to eradicate drug trafficking in Palu City. He also invited the public to actively provide information.
"We need synergy from the community to create a safe and drug-free environment," he said.
