Inaugurating The Jakarta U-17 League Competition For The 2025 Governor's Cup, This Is Pramono Anung's Hope

JAKARTA - The Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, inaugurated the Jakarta U-17 Cup Governor's League competition at Pancoran Soccer Field (PSF) Field, Pancoran, South Jakarta, Sunday morning, May 4. The competition, whose inaugural match starts on April 19, will be held until next October.

Followed by 18 teams from various regions in Jabodetabek, the U-17 Jakarta League is the first age group football competition to be held in full in Indonesia. It took almost seven months to complete the entire match.

The total time spent was 24 weeks, with a total of 306 games. Each team had to make 34 appearances, 17 homes and 17 away.

Pramono Anung welcomed the Jakarta U-17 League competition for the Governor's Cup with enthusiasm. Pramono promised to bring Jakarta to become the capital city of Indonesian football. The Jakarta U-17 League carries a tagline: Jakarta Football City!

"I hope the U-17 Jakarta League produces players like Witan Sulaiman, Muhammad Ferrari, Rizky Ridho, and other names who are currently working at the national level to strengthen Indonesia," said Pramono.

"Especially now that Indonesia has qualified for the U-17 World Cup. I hope this will also increase your motivation. Anyway, in terms of football, Jakarta cannot lose to other regions!" Pramono added.

Pramono also hopes that the young players who are currently competing in the U-17 Jakarta League can become the backbone of the DKI Jakarta Team which will be deployed in the 2028 NTB-NTT PON. For the record, DKI Jakarta is absent from the football branch in two PON performances, namely PON 2021 Papua and PON 2024 Aceh-North.

"I really hope that starting today Jakarta will have a new tradition, looking for players from this kind of competition in the Jakarta U-17 League. That's why I ask that this competition be maintained properly, and if it requires participation from the DKI Jakarta government, of course we will help," said Pramono again.
