Remissa's New Song Describes Anxiety Facing Life

JAKARTA - After releasing an acoustic album titled For You Only in digital format at the end of 2019, the rock / grunge group from Malang city of Remissa released a lyric video for their newest single, Please-Please Anxious, on April 9. Like her previous works, in this song Remissa still talks about social issues.

This time, vocalist and guitarist Rizky Toar, as the lyricist, tells a story inspired by the story of his friend. He shared his anxiety in facing life.

"He often confided in me that he was frustrated with his life, which had to be chased by debts every day," recalled Rizky Toar in a press release received by VOI.

According to the story of the man who is familiarly called Toar, his friend is the head of the family who is a freelance worker with an uncertain income even though he has many dependents - from supporting the family to paying off debt repayments.

In addition to fulfilling family needs, mediocre income makes debt a last resort that must be chosen. In fact, he forgets the psychological and physical needs of a household because he is too busy with demands to meet basic needs whose prices continue to rise and are suffocating.

"She once thought crazy that she thought God didn't love her anymore," she continued. "Through this song Please-Please Anxious, I try to represent what my friend feels or if I can also represent people out there who have the same fate."

Meanwhile, from the music side, Rizky Toar and Baron Wisnumurti (vocals, bass), Rizqtsany (guitar) and Rufa Hidayat (drums) presented Rizky Toar with a new formula; ranging from musical arrangements, vocal styles, to the tools used for recording.

"This time we tried to experiment with new things, such as the sound of drums that are very digital, the vocal character is rather seductive in the chorus, and some sound pads that we put into the song," explained guitarist Rizqtsany.

The song Please-Please Anxious is the first single song (single) released in preparation for Remissa's latest album which is scheduled to be released this year.

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, many agendas must be canceled and rearranged. However, Remissa emphasized that she tries to continue to be productive while maintaining health and staying at home. Releasing works for new albums, online workshops, and designing websites for the purpose of archiving and publishing works are some of the activities that Remissa does.
