MPR RI Asks Central Government And Local Governments To Synergize Development

JAKARTA - Member of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly Andar Amin Harahap said the relationship between the central government and local governments must be synergistic and harmonious in development.

"Relations between the central and regional governments must be synergistic and harmonious. The central government not only supervises, but also supports the regions in order to be able to develop their potential optimally," said Andar quoting Antara.

He said that in the unitary state system, the central government has the authority to maintain national stability, security, and the welfare of all Indonesian people.

However, local governments also play an important role through the authority of autonomy in managing affairs in their respective regions.

According to him, one form of real support from the central government is through a policy of a fair and sustainable resource allocation.

"This can be realized in the form of financial assistance, grants, and funding for strategic projects such as developing the agricultural sector or MSMEs," he said.

Andar encourages strategic partnerships between regions and the private sector, financial institutions with central support. This support is in the form of regulations and investment facilitation which is believed to open wider access to capital and technology.

Furthermore, he emphasized, that the success of regional development really depends on collaboration between the central government, local governments, the private sector, and the community.

"This synergy is important in order to realize inclusive and sustainable development," he said.

In facing increasingly complex development challenges, it is necessary to say Andar that there is an increase in the capacity of local government officials through training and coaching.
