Cooperating With The KPK, Erick Thohir Wants To Build A More Strict Supervision System

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir said that the increasingly dynamic management of state companies, especially those associated with the latest BUMN Law, and the existence of BPI Danantara, is needed to synchronize so that supervision of state-owned companies is more stringent.

On that basis, Erick said that cooperation and consultation with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is a crucial step for the Ministry of SOEs so that new assignment and work patterns based on BUMN Law number 1 of 2025 can be carried out optimally.

"Because the task is increasingly complex, including guarding President Prabowo's hopes that BPI Danantara will become a successful and healthy investment manager, cooperation with the KPK must be improved by building a stricter system and also adjusting it to the BUMN Law," Erick said in an official statement, Wednesday, April 30.

Moreover, continued Erick, there are new assignments and work patterns that must be carried out based on the latest BUMN Law. By still controlling series A shares, the Ministry of SOEs not only has a role to play in encouraging acceleration, but also plays a role in the approval of dividends, mergers, and also the closure of SOEs.

In the new BUMN Law, continued Erick, the board of directors to commissioners, state-owned companies are no longer included in state administrators, so a definition of their derivative is needed.

Not only that, the role of supervision of BPI Danantara is also a task that must be carried out in accordance with President Prabowo Subianto's expectations so that Danantara is maximal in managing the country's wealth.

On that basis, Erick assessed that the steps to synchronize with the KPK to create a new and more stringent surveillance system are in line with the policy of the Ministry of SOEs, which has long carried out BUMN cleaning programs.

"Eradication of corruption must be done by building a system and leadership, this can ensure that everything goes well," he said.
