KATSEYE Enters New Travel Through Courage Shown In Gnarly

JAKARTA - KATSEYE made a slick debut by reaching the top position of Billboard Emerging Artists and Heatseers Albums through their inaugural EP SIS (Soft Is Strong) in 2024. Now they are back with the song "Gnarly" a track club full of energy with an 808 boom, a sharp synth-synth rate, and a full attitude of courage.

In their new work, KATSEYE describes how it feels to grow in the digital era as well as go into the public spotlight, producing a combination of excitement, fragility, and overstimulation. Always enjoying the duality of life, KATSEYE plays the dual meaning of the word "gnarly" and celebrates the fuzzy boundaries between the real and digital world.

The song was produced by Pink Slip, Tim Randolph, founder of HYBE "hitman" Bang, and Slow Rabbit. KATSEYE members hope to present another interesting side to fans.

"We want people to feel the vibes, really connected to our music. 'Gnarly' felt authentic for us dare, fun, and show a different side of what we are carrying. It's great to be able to share even more while continuing to grow with EYEKONS," referring to the group's loyal fandom.

KATSEYE is here to break the stereotypes, where they create their own path. This global girl group was the first to form with the K-pop system's high standards, but with a clear goal of breaking through cultural boundaries and creativity.

It consists of six people aged 17 to 22 years and comes from very different cultural backgrounds, KATSEYE consists of: Daniela (Kuba/Venezuela-American, from Atlanta, GA), Lara (India, from New York, NY), Manon (Ghana-Italy, from Zurich, Switzerland), Megan (Chinese-American, from Honolulu, HI), Sophia (Manila, Philippines), and Yoonchae (Seoul, South Korea).

After the world witnessed them compete and unite through the revolutionary program DREAM Academy created by HYBE and Geffen Records (whose story was raised in the Netflix documentary series,Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE), the group released their debut record with a single titled "Debut" in the summer of 2024 which was included in the "Songs You Need to Know" list by ROlling Stone.

The second batch of KATSEYE, "Touch", was successfully included in the Billboard staff list "The 100 Best Songs of 2024". Their inaugural EP, which is at the top of the charts, SIS (Soft Is Strong), contains the two singles plus three new songs.
