DKI Provincial Government Speeds Up The Pursuit Of Tax Arrears, Whitening Is Canceled

JAKARTA - The staff of the Governor of DKI Jakarta for Public Communication, Cyril wary Hakim (Chico Hakim) explained the reason the DKI Provincial Government currently has no intention of bleaching motor vehicle taxes.

Chico said that vehicle owners should be able to pay their vehicle taxes every year. Thus, tax arrears must be pursued to pay off their obligations.

"It's as good as they can afford. It's quite strange if we whiten them, instead they are the people we hope to pay for," Chico told reporters, Tuesday, April 29.

Chico emphasized that Pramono did not intend to assume that all people have the same economic capacity to pay taxes. However, tax revenue is needed to improve development to public facilities.

"Whatever tax visits for it will return to the region with enthusiasm to build better public transportation, and others. Of course we can get from things like that," Chico explained.

DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung previously emphasized that the provincial government would not provide bleaching for motor vehicle taxes. He stated that his party would focus on pursuing tax arrears who have enjoyed the facilities provided by the state without fulfilling their obligations.

"Have you received the facility, have you received the convenience, do you not want to pay taxes?" said Pramono while attending the DKI Jakarta PWNU Halal Bihalal event, Sunday, April 27.

According to Pramono, the government's task is to provide assistance to people who really need it, such as bleaching diplomas for the less fortunate, not for those who own motorized vehicles but do not pay taxes.

He explained that most of the tax arrears of motorized vehicles are owners of more than one vehicle, such as the second or third car, which should not be eligible for tax breaks.

Pramono added that his party would firmly pursue motor vehicle tax evaders. Apart from being unable to fulfill their obligations, they have also enjoyed various facilities provided by the government.

"For those who own a car but don't want to pay taxes, I won't give them bleaching. I will continue to chase them," he said.
