The Classic Mercedes Benz Sedan Confiscated By The KPK Is Not In Ridwan Kamil's Wealth Report
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confiscated a Mercedes-Benz 280 SL type car which allegedly belonged to former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil or Kang Emil.
This forced effort is related to allegations of corruption in the placement of advertisements for PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat and Banten Tbk or Bank BJB (BJBR) for the period 2021-2023.
However, the classic sedan is not in the state administrator's wealth report (LHKPN) which was submitted on February 29, 2024 or when his position ended. Ridwan is known to only report ownership of seven vehicles, namely two cars and five motorbikes.
The two cars reported by the Golkar Party politician were the 2017 Hyundai Santafe Jeep with a value of IDR 319 million and the 2022 Electric CVT Wuling worth IDR 282 million.
Meanwhile, the seven motorbikes recorded by Ridwan Kamil are of the type Royal Enfield Classic 500 of 2017 with a value of IDR 78 million; Honda Beat Matic 109 of 2018 worth IDR 8.2 million; Kawasaki W175 of 2019 with a value of IDR 21.5 million; Honda CBR second CBR of 2019 worth IDR 21.5 million; and Vespa Matic in 2022 worth IDR 41.7 million.
The anti-corruption commission also confiscated a black-streamed Royal Enfield Classic 500 Limited Edition from Ridwan Kamil. Two-wheeled vehicles that are now in the KPK Confiscated Property Storage House (Rupbasan), Cawang, East Jakarta are also not at the LHKPN.
"Yes, so the motorbike in Rupasan Cawang is not included in the LHKPN, brother RK," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika in Jakarta, Friday, April 25.
Previously reported, the KPK confiscated evidence related to the corruption case in the placement of advertisements for PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat and Banten Tbk or Bank BJB (BJBR) for the period 2021-2023. Among them are deposits worth IDR 70 billion to vehicles.
"We also confiscated a sum of money, but in the form of deposits of approximately Rp. 70 billion, there were several two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles," said Acting Director of KPK Investigation, Budi Sokmo, to reporters at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, March 13, 2025.
