Had Gone Viral Due To Damage, Repair Of JPO Tipar Cakung For 2 Months

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Bina Marga Office has begun to repair the pedestrian bridge (JPO) in Tipar Cakung, East Jakarta. This JPO was in the spotlight because it was damaged and neglected.

"Currently, we have started working on repairing the Tipar pedestrian bridge in Cakung, East Jakarta. Sorry, the JPO has not been accessible for a while," said Head of the Bina Marga Jakarta Data and Information Center (Kapusdatin) Wiwik Wahyuni in his statement, Monday, April 28.

Wiwik asked the public to wait until the process of repairing the iron on the stairs and the previously lost safety has been completed. He targets the JPO to be used for the next two months.

"We estimate that this repair will take about 1 to 2 months to ensure the safety and comfort of the community," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the iron safety and roof of the pedestrian bridge (JPO) in front of the United Tractors and Tipar Cakung, Jalan Raya Bekasi, Cakung District, East Jakarta was allegedly stolen by thieves.

This condition is very dangerous for pedestrians and JPO users. The facility, which should be a safe means for pedestrians to cross this road, is now almost malfunctioning due to the many damaged and missing parts.

From VOI's observations in the field, most of the barrier iron on the right and left sides of the center of the JPO has disappeared. This condition is very dangerous for the crossmen because there are no more barriers.

According to Mahdi, traders around the location of the damaged Cakung JPO, this person crossing place is still being used by residents and factory employees. They had no choice because if they go through the zebra cross, they are afraid of being hit by a large vehicle.

"If I see that this JPO is still being used by residents. Many employees come home or come to work via the bridge even though the conditions are quite scary because there is no iron barrier. Now this JPO has been installed with a line that was prohibited from crossing yesterday, I see that it doesn't exist yet," he told reporters, Friday, April 25.

Until finally, the East Jakarta Satpol PP installed a yellow Pol PP Line line in two JPOs in the Cakung area that were not feasible for this function.

"Installation of the Pol PP Line line so that other people no longer try to enter the line we have given, we mark it. Especially at points that have become the focus, this is the supervisory function," said East Jakarta Satpol PP Trantibum Controller, Urip Widodo when confirmed.
