Minister Of Transportation Dudy: Progress Of Car And Container Construction At Patimban Port Terminal Has Been 78.90 Percent

JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi ensured that the Patimban Port phase I-2 development project which includes the Car Terminal (package 5) and Container Terminal (packet 6) went smoothly and according to plan.

This was conveyed by Dudy after visiting the two areas on Saturday, April 26. He said that in general, the progress of the construction of the Car Terminal and Container Terminal at Patimban Port has been going well.

"I hope the work can be completed on time so that it can increase capacity at the port and most importantly, be able to increase logistics competitiveness nationally," he said in an official statement, Sunday, April 27.

Dudy also said that until now the progress of the Car Terminal construction has reached 78.90 percent, targeted to be completed on October 28, 2025.

"While the progress of the Container Terminal construction has reached 73.87 percent, it is targeted to be completed on November 3, 2025," he said.

Furthermore, Dudy said the construction of the Car Terminal package 5 is a continuation of the development of the terminal area of package 1 vehicles which are currently operating. With the construction of the package 5 vehicle pier, the terminal capacity of vehicles will later increase from 218,000 complete build-up (CBU) to 600,000 CBU.

"The container terminal capacity will increase from 250,000 TEUs to 1.9 million TEUs," he said.

Dudy added that vehicle export-import activities at Patimban Port have shown quite good development from year to year. The largest export destinations of vehicles are in a number of countries such as the Philippines, Brunei Darussalam, and Japan, while the largest vehicle importing countries are Japan, Malaysia, China, and Thailand.

The presence of Patimban Port is the Government's effort to balance logistics flows between parts of Western, Central and East Indonesia. This is important to encourage the realization of equitable development and the economy in the country. In addition, the presence of this port is also a node for automotive export-import activities from a number of industrial areas in the West Java region," said Dudy.

In the future, Dudy invites business people to participate and carry out business activities at Patimban Port. The success of development policies carried out by the government will not be achieved without the role and support of business actors.

"Hopefully Patimban Port can trigger business potential in West Java and its surroundings," said Dudy.
