Persib Libas PSS 3-0, Increasingly Not Being Chased At The Top Of The Standings
JAKARTA - Persib Bandung showed its superiority in the Indonesian League 1 season 2024/2025 after crushing PSS Sleman with a landslide score of 3-0 in the 30th week match which took place at the Bandung Lautan Api Stadium (GBLA), Bandung City, Saturday, April 26 evening.
With this victory, Persib was increasingly not overtaken at the top of the standings. Maung Bandung now collects 64 points from 30 matches, 11 points ahead of his closest competitor, Dewa United. Meanwhile, PSS Sleman's different fate is still falling at the bottom of the standings with only 22 points from the same number of matches.
Since the kick-off whistle sounded, Bojan Hodak's foster children have appeared dominant. Their repeated attacks went smoothly to the heart of the Super Elja defense. Several golden opportunities were created, one of which was through Nick Kuipers' header in the 14th minute, but the ball could still be parried by PSS goalkeeper, Alan Jose.
Continuous pressure finally paid off. In the 20th minute, Gustavo Franca broke the deadlock through an accurate header using a corner, bringing Persib 1-0 up. The host supporters thundered celebrating the advantage.
Not satisfied with just one goal, Persib continued to attack PSS' back line. Ryan Kurnia and Beckham Putra had created dangerous opportunities, but until halftime the score remained 1-0.
Entering the second half, Persib did not lower the intensity of the attack. Just three minutes later, Ciro Alves almost listed his name on the scoreboard, but a brilliant save from Alan Jose thwarted the opportunity. However, Persib's persistence bore fruit one minute later. Tyronne del Pino took advantage of a mature pass inside the penalty box and calmly doubled his lead to 2-0 in the 49th minute.
