Hasto Willing To Be Detained As Long As The KPK Allows Agustiani Tio To Be Treated To China

The Secretary General of the PDIP, Hasto Kristiyanto, asked the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to prioritize human values towards the former Indonesian Bawaslu Commissioner, Agustiani Tio Fridelina, by allowing her to continue treatment in Guangzhou, China.

Agustiani Tio Fridelina, is one of the witnesses and convicted of the bribery case for the interim replacement (PAW) of Harun Masiku.

Hasto expressed his deep concern after witnessing Agustiani Tio Fridelina's alarming condition, where he almost fainted and struggled to walk while attending the trial yesterday.

The PDIP Secretary General recalled his efforts since February 17, 2025 to ask the KPK to open a humanitarian space for Agustiani Tio Fridelina.

"Yesterday we saw how Sister Agustiani Tio Fridelina almost fainted, the street staggered, due to her rights related to her safety, relating to her humanitarian rights, the door was still not opened by the KPK. Even though Sister Agustiani Tio Fridelina has been cooperative," said Hasto in a sad tone after the trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Friday, April 25.

In addition, Hasto also mentioned Agustiani Tio Fridelina who was cooperative during the legal process. Although he had never been exposed to a KPK sting operation (OTT), Tio, his nickname, from the start admitted his involvement in the bribery process against Wahyu Setiawan.

However, it is highly anticipated that there is intimidation and delinquency against Agustiani Tio Fridelina's husband without a clear examination, which significantly prevents her access to much-needed treatment.

This happened because Agustiani Tio Fridelina refused to provide the information the KPK wanted regarding her meeting with her in the prayer room.

"This is inhumane treatment," he said.

In his statement, Hasto Kristiyanto stated that he understood his position as a political target and was ready to face all legal consequences, including detention by the KPK.

Seriously, Hasto requested that the legal process targeting him not sacrifice Agustiani Tio Fridelina's rights to fight cancer.

"After all, I am indeed a political target to enter detention, go to prison by making recycling efforts, against a legal process that already has permanent legal force, but never sacrifice humanity. This is our Pancasila," said Hasto in a vibrating voice, citing the basic principle of the state regarding the protection of the right to life of all citizens.

Hasto also reminded the public and the KPK of similar cases that have occurred, where former SOE Minister Dahlan Iskan, despite his suspect status, was allowed to seek treatment on humanitarian grounds with the help of the Fifth President of the Republic of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri and former Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2014-2019 period, Jusuf Kalla.

"For these humanitarian reasons, why is the door being closed now? Just because I was used as a target. So let me go to KPK detention, but Sister Agustiani Tio Fridelina, who has been in prison, has been released purely, should no longer be done with various obstacles so that the human spirit seems closed," he continued.

At the end of his statement, Hasto Kristiyanto emphasized his readiness to accept any court decisions related to him. However, he again requested that the KPK immediately open access to treatment for Agustiani Tio Fridelina, emphasizing that this issue is now beyond the realm of law and is a test for the human values of the nation.

"This is a test for the dignity of the nation. Do not let injustice eliminate our sense of humanity," said Hasto.
