Indonesian Foreign Minister Emphasizes Urgency Of Islamic State Unity To Realize Ceasefire In Palestine
JAKARTA - Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono stressed the importance of the unity of Islamic countries to realize the ceasefire, as well as reopening access to humanitarian aid in Palestine, during a telephone conversation with his counterpart Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi on Thursday.
Speaking by telephone on Thursday, the two main diplomats of each country discussed bilateral relations, as well as developments in the region and global, in addition to the Gaza Strip issue.
In this conversation, Foreign Minister Araqchi outlined Iran's stance on developments in West Asia, calling the ongoing occupation and massacre of Palestinians one of the most pressing global issues, quoted from Iran's news agency, IRNA, Friday, April 25.
Iran's foreign minister stressed that Israel, with full support from the United States and several Western countries, has turned Gaza and the West Bank into places of genocide and torture against innocent Palestinians.
Despite an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court and a temporary order from the International Court to stop genocide, Iran's Foreign Minister continued, the heinous crimes of Zionists continue.
Foreign Minister Araqchi noted that Israel continues to launch its attacks on Lebanon and Syria, and the US supports it by launching attacks on Yemen. He stressed that in this dire situation, Islamic countries must take stronger steps to stop these crimes and provide humanitarian assistance to the oppressed Palestinian people.
In turn, Foreign Minister Sugiono supports Araqchi's stance on the severe conditions faced by Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.
Foreign Minister Sugiono stressed the urgency for Islamic countries to unite in order to immediately realize the ceasefire and reopen humanitarian aid routes for the Palestinian people.

Responding to this, Foreign Minister Sugiono reaffirmed Indonesia's commitment to expand cooperation with Iran both at bilateral and multilateral levels, and expressed his approval for proposals to strengthen bilateral relations.
