Bekasi Satpol PP Unloads 600 Illegal Buildings In Tambun, Normalization Of New Times Begins
BEKASI - A number of illegal buildings to street vendor stalls (PKL) in the Tambun area, Bekasi Regency, West Java, were razed to the ground after being brought under control by joint officers following up on the instructions of the local regional head.
"We continue to move every day on the instructions of the Bekasi Regent to curb illegal buildings as mandated by regional regulations regarding public order," said Head of the Bekasi Regency Satpol PP Surya Wijaya as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, April 25.
He explained that in the Tambun Selatan sub-district, a number of points became a concentration of control covering the Tambun Station area in Mekarsari Village, which is often the cause of traffic jams due to illegal building activities and street vendor stalls.
"This control is carried out to improve order, maintain environmental beauty and ensure smooth accessibility for road users considering that the area is often the cause of traffic jams," he said.
Control by the Bekasi Regency Satpol PP assisted by the police and the TNI and local regional apparatus went smoothly because it was carried out through a humanist approach.
South Tambun Sub-district Head Sopian Hadi explained that before the control, his party had summoned street vendors and illegal buildings to convey warnings and warnings so that they would dismantle the stalls after Lebaran.
"Previously we had summoned and given a warning to the owner of the illegal building to be demolished myself and today I checked directly and helped control and dismantle it," he said.
He admitted that the main objective of this control activity was to reduce congestion in the area around Tambun Station which had been caused by the presence of street vendors and illegal buildings.
Sopian added that after the area is neatly arranged, road access from Tambun Station to the Juang 45 Building Museum will be used again to reduce congestion that occurs from the west.
"After this is arranged, roads around the station can be used to reduce congestion, especially for vehicles coming from Tridayasakti, Mekarsari and Griya Asri," he said.
The Bekasi Regency Government also plans to regulate the area of the Juang Building Museum to the north side of the station which is used to park motorbikes to ensure smooth traffic and public comfort.
The South Tambun sub-district head also appealed to motorcycle parking managers in the Tambun Station area to comply with applicable regulations.
"We hope that the parking area can be managed properly, safely and neatly arranged to avoid accumulation of vehicles that can cause traffic jams and disturbances to public order," he said.
He hopes that this control will be able to create a safe and orderly environment so that all motorists can access the road more comfortably.
On the same day, similar control was also carried out on 600 illegal buildings that stood along the banks of Kali Baru, Sumberjaya Village as an effort to prevent flooding while creating a more organized and comfortable environment for the community.
Control is focused on the downstream area of Kali Baru covering South Tambun and North Tambun sub-districts, starting from the Yapemas area to Jejalen Jaya. This area is a priority because of the narrowing of the river flow due to illegal buildings that only leave about one meter wide, thus blocking the flow of water when it rains.

Sopian hopes that this arrangement will restore the function of Kali Baru as an optimal water channel and green area and be useful for residents.
"Hopefully it can reduce the risk of flooding while increasing public awareness it will be important to protect the environment, create areas that are healthier, safer and more comfortable to live in," he said.
