Bluesky Launches Blue Tick Icon For Trusted Big Account And Verifier
JAKARTA Bluesky officially launched a blue tick verification feature on its platform. This feature can be used as a confidence standard for Bluesky users when they want to interact with a number of accounts.
Blue Tick is part of the first verification layer that has been available since 2023. At that time, Bluesky verified the individual accounts or large organizations, but there was no sign that the accounts had been verified.
To show legitimate accounts, Bluesky will now add a blue tick next to the account name. It looks exactly like Twitter, now familiarly referred to as X, while still using a blue tick as a large account verification tool.
"Bluesky will proactively verify a well-known authentic account and display a blue tick next to the account name," Bluesky said, quoted from its official website on Tuesday, April 22.

In addition to verifying independently, Bluesky also relies on Trusted Verifiers to facilitate the verification process. Even though it was submitted to third parties, Bluesky said that they were still 'reviewing verification to ensure authenticity'.
Verifier Trusts will also have a blue tick on their profile page, but with a different shape. Verified accounts as genuine will get a round blue tick, while Verificator Tepercaya has a wavy blue tick.
"For example, the New York Times can now give journalists a blue tick directly in the app," Bluesky explained. "When you tap the blue tick on the verified account, you'll see which organizations have verified it."
