Gilimanuk-Menwi Toll Road Construction Continues, Use Government Funds And Investors

JAKARTA - The construction of the Gilimanuk-Bengwi Toll Road project was continued even though the announcement of the list of National Strategic Projects (PSN) under President Prabowo was not mentioned.

He emphasized that the government will continue to finance together with investors.

"So the financing for land acquisition will be fully borne by the government, the construction by the private sector," said Bali Governor Wayan Koster as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, April 21.

Koster ensured that the Gilimanuk-Bengwi Toll Road was still part of PSN, even included in the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN).

This was confirmed after the number one person in the Bali Provincial Government met with the Ministry of Public Works.

"There was a viral incident that the Gilimanuk-Bengwi Toll Road was no longer included in the National Strategic Project, I went to the Minister of Public Works with the staff, it turned out that it was still a National Strategic Project," said Koster.

"So that's the status still there, it will continue," he continued.

The Directorate General of Infrastructure Financing at the Ministry of Public Works itself is reported to have conducted a direct review of the areas where toll roads will be crossed, especially in Jembrana Regency.

The construction of the Gilimanuk-Bengwi toll road will later be divided into three phases.

The first phase of Gilimanuk-Pekutuan, phase two Pekutatan-Soka, and phase three of Soka-Bengwi.

"The referee asked only phase one and phase three, the second phase if it could be worked on by the government," he said.

For this reason, the Bali Provincial Government ensures that the central government has agreed to participate in building phase two with a cost of Rp. 6 trillion and land acquisition of Rp. 4 trillion.
