Regarding The Collision Of Jorge Martin, Giannantonio Admits He Can't Avoid

JAKARTA - Ducati racer Fabio di Giannantonio, revealed the facts regarding him who hit Jorge Martin during the 2025 Qatar MotoGP race last weekend. He said it happened because he could not avoid it when Martin fell in front of his motorbike.

This incident occurred at Turn 12 of the Lusail Circuit. Jorge Martin fell off the motorbike and Di Giannantonio accidentally hit him from behind.

"He was in front of me, slightly wide. I wanted to overtake him, I was close to him, but then he fell."

"When he was on the track, I touched him. I couldn't go anywhere, at that time my speed was 200 km/hour," said Di Giannantonio as quoted by Crash, Thursday, April 17, 2025.

After the incident, Di Giannantonio even admitted that he was not calm in continuing the race. The reason is, his mind continues to be focused on Jorge Martin's condition.

"It was the worst moment in my life, I was shaking. I kept driving my motorbike, but thinking about him (Jorge Martin). I stopped in front of his garage, confirming his condition."

"I want to know from the Aprilia team that Jorge's condition is fine. Looking at the big screen, I see he's fine. Maybe that's the reason the red flag wasn't raised," said Di Giannantonio about his anxiety.

Due to the crash that hit him, Jorge Martin was later found to have suffered a serious injury. Eight ribs cracked which clearly had to receive serious treatment.

This is clearly a deep disappointment for Jorge Martin. The reason is, the Qatar 2025 MotoGP event was actually a moment of Jorge Martin's comeback after injury at the start of the season.
