Update On COVID-19 As Of April 28: New Cases Of 5,241, Recovering, Increasing 4,818 Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health has released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19. A total of 73,283 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 5,241 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 1,657,035 people and 100,502 active cases", he was quoted as saying from the Ministry of Health's data, Wednesday, April 28.

Cases recovered today increased by 4,818 cases so that a total of 1,511,417 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 177 people and a total of 45,116 people.

The province with the newest cases is in West Java with 1,354 cases and a total of 278,907 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta, which has 634 new cases with a total of 406,844 cases. Riau has 479 new cases and a total of 43,177 cases. Then, East Java has 479 new cases and a total of 147,105 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to West Java with an increase of 1,031 cases recovered. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an increase of 682 recovered cases, Central Java with an increase of 634 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 260 cases recovered.

No province reported having any new cases as of today. In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 14,466,393.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate was 18.20 percent", he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 66,005 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Furthermore, currently, 12,112,888 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 7,374,458 vaccines for the second dose. Meanwhile, the total target of vaccination stages 1 and 2 reached 40,349,051 people.
