75 Security Personnel Guard The Easter Series Since Thursday White In Manokwari

WEST PAPUA - Police deployed 75 personnel to secure a series of Easter services for 4 days starting Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter Sunday this week in Manokwari, West Papua.

This security also involves other agencies such as Kodim 1801/Manokwari, the local government, scouters, and other community organizations in Manokwari Regency.

Head of Manokwari Police, Police Commissioner Ongky Isgunawan, said that there were 12 churches that held Easter services this year.

"We are planning 75 police personnel, and of course there are other agencies that are also involved in Easter security activities," said Ongky in Manokwari, Wednesday, April 16, which was confiscated by Antara.

Ongky appealed to all elements of society, especially other religious communities, to contribute to maintaining Manokwari's security stability so that the implementation of the 2025 Easter service runs according to expectations.

Harmony between religious believers in Manokwari that has been preserved for a long time, he continued, has become the capital for regional development in the future.

"This should be maintained by applying mutual respect," said Ongky.

Until now, he said, the security and public order situation in Manokwari remained conducive, or there were no prominent events ahead of Easter.

Ongky said that the police always synergize with local governments, religious leaders, traditional leaders, and community leaders to prevent various potential security disturbances that hinder community activities throughout the Manokwari area.

"Security is indeed the responsibility of the TNI and Polri. However, it cannot be borne by the TNI/Polri itself. Therefore, we are strengthening synergy and collaboration with other parties," he said.
