Dune Game Launch: Awakening Delayed Three Weeks To June 10

JAKARTA - The Funcom developer has postponed the release of the Dune: Awakening game, which was originally planned to be released on May 20, to June 10, 2025, with initial access on June 5.

In its announcement, the developer explained that this decision was taken after running the Persistent Closed Beta phase and recently launched a large beta preview involving hundreds of journalists and content creators.

During the trial, the developers got a lot of feedback from the players through their discord channels. Thus, the fix of this game will be a follow-up to developers in producing better games.

The studio revealed that they will take advantage of the three-week extension to make improvements in the game, to produce even better games.

"This is not a decision we make lightly, we know everyone is very excited to start playing, but these three additional weeks will give us the time it takes to make improvements," the announcement reads.

Since last February, Funcom has gradually shared content such as Character Creator & Benchmark Mode, opened pre-orders in March, and released various videos and live streams to maintain community enthusiasm.

Interestingly, before the official launch, they also plan to hold a large-scale beta weekend next month that gives players wider opportunities to try out the game and deliver feedback.

"Dune: Awakening is an amazing game. It's a multiplayer survival on a large scale, and we're making unprecedented and technical gameplay progress in this genre. We want to make sure that this launch is a success," he concluded.

When launched, Dune: Awakening will be available on PC (via Steam) platforms, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series XS.
