PDN Cikarang Hasn't Operated Yet. Wait For The French President's Visit To Indonesia?
JAKARTA - After several delays, Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria said that currently his party is still evaluating the National Data Center (PDN) before it is officially operational.
Previously, the Cikarang PDN was targeted to operate in early 2025. Then, PDN operations were postponed to March. However, because it coincided with the month of Ramadan, Komdigi again postponed its operations to April, after Lebaran.
However, already entering mid-April, Nezar said that this April, the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) was conducting a thorough evaluation of its security architecture.
According to him, there are still several processes needed. One of them is special certified talents who will run several tools and features in PDN.
"There are several specific processes that take time as well. For example, we need a number of people who are specially certified, yes, to carry out several features in PDN, and this is being reviewed by BSSN," said Nezar on Wednesday, April 16 in Jakarta.

There is no definite month to operate PDN. However, Nezar said there was a possibility that the operation of the Cikarang PDN would be carried out, coinciding with the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Indonesia in May.
"It could be yes, it could be (waiting Macron's visit). And actually, slowly the test for this PDN has been running for some services," he added.
After laying the first stone (groundbreaking) in October 2022, the construction of PDN-1 has been completed and the Provisional Hand Over (PHO) has been carried out by the French government.
