Getting To Know The Lod Gate, Where Dajjal Was Killed

YOGYAKARTA - Muslims believe that at the end of the day Dajjal will come down, a creature that will spread a lot of great slander in the midst of humans. This slander will trigger confusion among humans. In Islamic teachings, Dajjal will in the end lose and even be killed by Prophet Isa. From the events of Dajjal's death, Muslims know the Lod gate. Lod Gate (several sources write it as Ludd) is an entrance to the city in Palestine. Lod City is quite special because it is stated in the hadith that in the future, it will be the location where the Prophet Isa killed Dajjal.

Reporting from a book entitled Signs of Heroes (2006) published by Qisthi Press, Prophet Muhammad said,

Like the speed of the clouds blown by the wind. Djjal came to a people and called them, then they believed in him and obeyed him. He ordered the sky, then lay down the rain. He ordered the earth, get out of the plant. The camel's sap and the cow's milk bags are full. Then he went to a people and called them to believe in him, but they refused his call. Then he left the area, then they were hit by drought until they didn't have the slightest wealth. After that he passed the building collapsed and said: 'Put out your treasure!', then the flying property followed him like a bee. Then he called a young man and slashed him with a sword until his body was split in two. Then he called again, the young man who had been split got up while laughing at Dajjal. That's when the Prophet Isa a.s appeared, then chased Dajjal and found him at the gate of the city of Lud (in Palestine) which he later killed Dajjal'. (HR. Muslim).

At Atlas Hadith al-Nabawi, Dr Syauqi Abu Khalil explained that the city of Lod is located around Baitul Maqdis or Elia in Palestine. Historically, the city became a shelter for a group of troops from Syam (Suriah) who were leaving for Egypt.
