Rasmus Hojlund: Victory In Europa League Not Rescue

JAKARTA - Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund said he did not like the narrative that a win in the Europa League would save the Red Devils a bad season.

Manchester United will face Lyon in the crucial first leg of the Europa League quarter-final on Friday, April 11, 2205, early morning WIB - a game that must be won in which a failure would mean losing a chance to play in the Champions League next season and sparking a financial nightmare that will leave a hole of 100 million pounds.

However, from a sports point of view, Hojlund said that Manchester United had just been in the early period of their project. He confirmed that his team was heading in the right direction.

When asked in an interview with ESPN about whether to lift the trophy would save their season, Hojlund did not seem to agree.

"Yes, I think so in a number of ways, but again, I don't like the word rescue."

"This is more of a learning curve and an effort to have a good basis for building next season."

"I think we're still quite early in this phase, aren't we? However, I think we're heading in the right direction."

"We start to understand each other, but as the coach says, every time he appears in the media, he says we have a lot to improve."

"Everyone needs to be better and we need to develop ourselves. So, that's the target," said Hojlund.

The failure to beat Lyon in two legs would mean Ruben Amory's team ended the season without trophies, adding to the suffering of their worst Premier League campaign.
