BAC 2025: 7 Indonesian Representatives Qualify For Quarter Finals

JAKARTA Indonesia managed to place seven representatives in the quarter-finals of the 2025 Badminton Asia Championships (BAC).

The tournament, which took place at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, Ningbo, China, completed a series of second-half matches on Thursday, April 10, 2025, WIB night.

In the men's singles number, Jonatan Christie is the only Indonesian representative who can survive in the tournament. The top eight tickets also maintain his hopes of defending the title.

Jonathan penetrated the second round of the 2025 BAC with the 2023 junior world champion Alwi Farhan. Unfortunately, the 19-year-old badminton player's journey was intercepted by Kenta Nishimoto (Japan).

Then in the women's singles sector, Indonesia no longer had any hope following the defeat of Gregoria Mariska Tunjung and her colleague Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi.

Men's doubles is the sector with the most representatives who still survive. This number still has three pairs, namely Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Daniel Marthin, Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana, and Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto.

Another hope rests on the shoulders of the women's doubles. This number only depends on the pair Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi.

Finally, the mixed doubles sector still has the pair Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari and Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu.

The quarter-finals will take place on Friday, April 11, 2025. The series of matches will start at 10.00 local time or 09.00 WIB.
