More Than 3,000 ADV160 Honda Units Have Been Recalled, This Is The Main Problem
JAKARTA American Honda Motor Company officially submitted a recall to the United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), after a potential serious problem was found at the ADV160 oil pump.
Reporting from Rideapart, Thursday, April 10, the problem stems from the oil pump driving component that is experiencing abnormal gear viscosity. If left unchecked, this condition can cause machines to jam to increase the risk of accidents or serious injuries to motorists.
A total of about 3,316 ADV160 units are included in the recall list, or about two percent of the total population of this model in the US market. The affected stickers were produced between March 22, 2023, and November 6, 2024.
From Honda's internal report, there are two main causes of damage, namely the curvature of the gear driving the oil pump and the deformation due to the component cooling process.
